Description
Walnut Hill College is proud to present its annual Educator's Day!
This exciting and educational professional development day on Walnut Hill College's campus is intended for CTE and Secondary School educators, as well as advisors of culinary arts, pastry arts and hospitality management programs.
The full day of education development includes hands-on educational experiences as well as high impact presentations. The day concludes with a sampling of our famous "Holiday Buffet". Even better, there will be a chance to win some great prizes for our attendees.
Sample Outline of the Day's Events:
8:30am-9:00am - Check in and Breakfast
9:00am - Welcome Address
9:15am-10:45am - Development Session Block One
11:00am-12:30pm - Development Session Block Two
12:30pm-1:45pm - Lunch (A sampling from our Holiday Buffet)
1:45pm-2:00pm - Closing Session and Prize Drawling**
2:00pm-2:30pm - Networking Session
The Development Session Blocks will include small group activities. About half of all attendees will be in our kitchens for a rotation of experiences, while the other half will be in our "Hospitality Institute" for dynamic presentations. Each attendee will go through all sessions across the two development session blocks. The specifics of each activity will be provided closer to the event.
**Please note that attendees must be present to be eligible to win our Walnut Hill Exclusive prize. Experience is non-transferable. Additional eligibility rules apply.

Questions & Answers
Yes! We have a private lot for educator's to park in located right on our campus next to the mansion but it is a first come first served for spots. We encourage car pooling if possible.
Public Transportation- There is a El stop at 40th and Market which is about a 5 block walk to us. Bus route 21 runs right down Walnut Street and stops at 42nd and Walnut.
Additional parking can be found on the streets surrounding the campus as well as a parking garage at 40th and Walnut.
Check in will open at 8:30am with a continental breakfast available and the first formal session begins at 9am. If you are going to be a little late please reach out to Mrs. Jessica Dougherty.
The event ends around 2:30pm with a raffle drawling.

Our sessions, including the active demonstration, will touch on Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, Hospitality skills and strategies and tactics for educators. NOTE: Please be prepared to get your hands dirty in a kitchen while on campus!
We ask that no more than 2 educators from each school attends due to space limitations.
Each educator must register individually for the event.
